As the children get older activities can be sustained for longer, and ideas can be developed from week to week. Some terms we have covered a number of Italian Terms, others we have looked at notation of pitch using colours and rhythms using colours, blocks and for our oldest children musical notation. We have explored wild animals and farm animals, the weather. Drama and Dance get integrated into the music and children start to perform to their parents. |

The music play is child led, and this is a great age for exploring the humour in music. Your older child's motor skills are good and they can manipulate more complex instruments, a more suitable alternative is always available for a younger child. Activities start easy and get harder. |
The most important thing your child learns is that they are musical, and that music is fun. Numeracy, Literacy, controlled physical movement, and understanding of self, sharing, taking turns, experiencing success are other important lessons that can be taught through music. |
