Pre School Music Classes in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Julie Gaudin is an Registered Music Teacher who has taught hundreds of Pre School children and babies. She has a Masters degree in music and was the first  person in New Zealand to be awarded the Institute of Registered Music Teachers Diploma in Early Childhood Music. She is an Associate of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers and a member of Canterbury Musical Parenting.

"My philosophy is that each class should contain no more than a dozen children, so each child receives individual attention throughout the class. This also allows the children to influence the musical experience, we can compose songs or extend activities based on the interests of the class. The whole body is used to learn, along with a range of equipment. Repetition creates a safe environment for children to experience success with music."

Term 1 2010 booking now open

Term 1 2010 starts 29 January and runs for 9 weeks.  The price for the term is $45, or $55 for a family.

As of 22 December existing students can rebook their reserved place, if spaces are shown then they can be booked by new students. After January 16th any spaces can be booked.

Monday 9.30        10 spaces reserved - 2 can be booked

Monday 10am       9 Spaces reserved - 3 can be booked

Monday 10.30am New Baby Class - under 12 months only - 3 spaces confirmed, 9 can be booked

Monday 11      7 Spaces reserved - 5 can be booked (will run subject to minimum numbers in 9.30 and 10am classes)

Friday 9.30           7 spaces reserved - 1 space confirmed - 4 can be booked

Friday 10am          7 Spaces reserved- 2 spaces confirmed - 3 can be booked

 Now with 5 classes a week in North New Brighton. Why Brighton? The room is centrally heated and fully carpeted. It has good toilets and baby changing right next door to the room (which is important when you are potty training or have more than one child). There is plenty of on and off street parking. It's quite literally a stone's throw from the beach (not that we encourage stone throwing!), near to a great park and domain and has several very child friendly cafes nearby for a post class catch up. I have looked at other rooms - but none match up, and so I chose to run all my classes from North New Brighton.

Family Classes

Older children now can jump, hop and skip to the music, pretend to be animals, or on a trip to outer space. Musical play stimulates their imaginations. Pre reading and pre maths is blended into the music, preparing your child for Kindergarten and School. Ideas are explored for longer as your child's concentration grows. Younger siblings are welcomed into the group.
